Who are we
S.C.S. has been established for over 10 years, based in Bexhill East Sussex, covering all of East Sussex, owned and managed by Adam Reid. Adam is registered with the Institute of Chimney Sweeps ICS and an approved HETAS ( The solid fuel safety and standards organisation ) installer, able to provide home insurance certified safety certificates.
Although the role of a Chimney Sweep was made famous by Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins things have changed no longer is there an “alright gov’noor” London accent Chimney Sweep bursting into bouts of Chim Chiminey, Chim Chiminey Chim Chin Cher-ee and Step in time dance routines but you would be amazed how many times the conversation comes up. Chimneys are swept using Brush and Vacuum with a traditional rod and brush system We have many different rod and brush types too suit different flues / chimneys. We also use a high powered filtered ash vacuum to catch the majority of soot whilst sweeping and clean dust sheets and soot sheets too ensure no mess is left and the chimney is safe and clean for another season of use.

Installations & Servicing
What We Offer
To those of you that detoured to Mr Dykes video welcome back. We are able to offer full installations and renovations of existing fire places and can remove an existing Victorian fireplace / cast iron / stone/ brick etc and create an opening big enough too accommodate a chosen log burner or multi-fuel stove along with the general building work that completes the installation, plaster and render the opening or finish it in tiles or bricks slips depending on your choice, not forgetting your choice hearths and mantel for your fire surround like a floating oak beam.
All of the log burners and mulit-fuel stoves we provide are DEFFRA Approved ( The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs ) and come with an extended 5 year warranty as standard.
We can also service your multi-fuel stove and Log Burner from new rope seals and glass and fire cements / sealants and fire bricks.
We take the time to complete all jobs from Chimney Sweeping to Log Burner & Stove installations to the highest standards, no job is rushed or left incomplete. You do not have to clean when we have swept, and we will leave your room clean after our installation. Our customers retain our services for the annual sweeps and are happy to recommend us, our business grows based on personal recommendations and we appreciate that.
